Resolution?

I think I’ve decided what I’m going to do with the beadwork thing. I’ve written before about the differences between hobbies and businesses, avocations and vocations. I came to the serious realization today that maybe I really would be best off as a hobbyist, where it comes to my beadwork: giving jewelry away as gifts;Continue reading “Resolution?”

Clarification

This is a commentary upon and expansion past the worries I expressed about 6 weeks ago. I tend to be a very anxious person. It’s obvious enough if you know me in my day-to-day life, or if you catch me in the middle of an anxiety flare-up. Generally, as a writer, I’ve tried to keepContinue reading “Clarification”

This built up. I’m sorry.

Essentially…we saw a couple of people today whom we haven’t seen in person for two years, and got together over food.Continue reading “Celebrations”

Money matters.

If I had worked out how much I was comfortable being paid (or needed to draw) earlier; if I’d worked out how much I could earn by not investing a lot into the beading enterprise; it would have been a quicker path to the realization that this maybe should be a second line of income,Continue reading “Money matters.”

Hobby vs Business, part two

I have been doing (more) research on the difference between a hobby and a business, over the last couple of days. Right now, in the eyes of the U.S. Government, I am surely a hobbyist, though this could develop into being a business, in the future. Note: none of this is intended as legal advice,Continue reading “Hobby vs Business, part two”
